授業概要(教育目的) 様々な話題，文体の英文を一文一文分析的に読み，パラグラフ構造やメイン・アイディアを適切に把握する練習を通してリーディングスキルを高め，英文内容（話題）に対する自分自身の考えを発展させることを目的とします。

評価の特記事項 全授業の2/3以上出席者のみを成績評価対象とします。授業内小テストの成績(20%)及び、その他(20%)は予習/授業での発表を総合的に評価します。

参考文献 英和/和英辞書(大学生・社会人レベルのもの)を毎回持参すること。（電子辞書は使用可ですが携帯電話を辞書として使用することは禁止します。）
オフィスアワー(授業相談) 授業終了後、講師室(火曜：本館２階、木曜：７号館３階)にて２０分対応します。
事前学習の内容など，学生へのメッセージ 英語の学習経験はあるのに、実際に英語/英文に接すると理解に窮するという人も多いのではないでしょうか。それはまだ「英語に慣れていない」ということです。本授業では、まず①一語一語辞書に丹念にあたり意味・定義全体を概観することでその語句の含意全体のイメージを掴み、さらに「用例」で実際の使用法を確認することで語彙力を増強します。次に②出来るだけ多くの英文にあたり、その文法構造を確認する作業を根気強く繰り返すことで「英語に慣れて」いきます。加えて、発音記号も適宜確認し➂正確に発音できるようにします。これらによって五感をフルに活用して英語を習得していきましょう。
