学習目標(到達目標) ①日常生活や自分自身のことについて、自信をもって英語で話すことができる。
②日常生活や現代社会に関わる情報・説明を聴いて、理解することができる。

④英語圏の社会・文化背景を理解し、場面に合った適切な英語表現(丁寧表現など)を使うことができる。

授業概要(教育目的) 英語のスピーキングとリスニングに関する既習事項を確認・活用して,自分自身が伝達したいことを音声で表現できるようになること,そして相手が伝達したいことを聴き取って理解できるようになることを目的とします。
This class gives students the opportunity to develop basic skills in speaking and listening. Attention mainly focuses on pronunciation, intonation and basic communication strategies.

授業形式 演習形式を中心として授業を進め,ペアまたはグループによる練習なども行います。内容理解を確認するための小テストや課題提出等を随時課します。
This class lays stress on practical training, including work in pairs or groups. Comprehension quizzes and assignments will be given as needed.

評価の特記事項 grading: presentations (20%), assignments (10%), participation & homework(40%), handouts (10%)
テキスト No textbook is required - students must purchase a file folder and journal notebook (B5 size).
参考文献 The file folder handouts will be used to complete assignments & prepare for the tests and presentation. The journal notebook will be used for homework assignments given each week.
オフィスアワー(授業相談) The instructor will be available on Monday and Wednesday for 5 to 10 minutes before and after each class.
事前学習の内容など,学生へのメッセージ Students need to be prepared to speak in English during each class. Course assignments must be handed in by the due date - late submissions will not be accepted. If a student is absent for a class, they will still be responsible for completing the homework before the next class begins.
