学習目標(到達目標) 1.Students will gain insight into the Japanese employment system and family organization in transition.
2.Students will become familiar with basic Japanese statistics on labor, marriage, and fertility.
授業概要(教育目的) The aim of this course is to examine the distinctive features of work and workplace in contemporary Japan and to understand their implications for Japanese family life.

第2回Labor force participation(1)Will draw graphs indicating labor force participation of Japan and selected countries.

第3回Labor force participation(2)Will compare labor force participation rate among various countries and prefectures.

授業形式 Attention will be given to ensure a good mix of lecture by the instructor and class discussion. Students will be given ample opportunities to express their ideas in English. Students will also be given an opportunity to conduct small research in a group and present materials in the class.
