学習目標(到達目標) From this lecture, students will learn theories and methods for analyzing economic statistics of Japan and other countries, and acquire practical skills for analysis and presentation using EXCEL.
この科目では，前期の「Economic Statistics I」に続き，経済統計の理論・手法を英語で学び，英語での分析資料の作成の能力及びEXCELを基礎とした統計分析スキルを習得します。
授業概要(教育目的) This lecture covers basic theories and methods of inferential statistics through real examples of economic statistics of Japan and the world.
この講義では，前期の記述統計から一歩進み，主に推測統計の理論と方法を，日本及び世界の経済統計の実例による演習を通じて英語で学びます。

第1回IntroductionOutline and contents of the course will be explained. Students will study basic concepts of inferential statistics.
第2回Sampling and Estimation (1)Basic concepts and methods of statistical sampling and estimation will be explained.
第3回Sampling and Estimation (2)Application of sampling and estimation will be discussed in the exercises.
第4回National Accounts (1)The framework of national accounts statistics will be explained,
第5回National Accounts (2)International comparison of GDP and purchasing power parities will be explained.
第6回National Accounts (3)Actual data of national accounts statistics will be observed, and interpretation of the world economy will be discussed.
第7回Regression Analysis (1) Basic methods of regression analysis, including multiple regression, will be explained.
第8回Regression Analysis (2) Regression analysis will be applied to real examples, and its interpretation will be discussed.
第9回Statistical Hypothesis Testing (1)Basic concepts of statistical hypothesis testing will be explained.
第10回Statistical Hypothesis Testing (2)Application of hypothesis testing will be discussed in the exercises.
第11回Trade and International Balance of Payments Statistics (1)Concepts of trade statistics will be explained, and world trade situation will be discussed.
第12回Trade and International Balance of Payments Statistics (2)Concepts of international balance of payments statistics will be explained, and the world economic situation will be discussed.
第13回Energy StatisticsConcepts of energy statistics will be explained, and the world energy situation will be discussed.
第14回Questions and AnswersReview and Overall Discussion
第15回Summary and Conclusions The points of 1-14th lessons will be summarized.
授業形式 Lectures will be given in PC room. Students are to solve the exercise questions, and give presentations, using mainly EXCEL.
授業は，パソコン教室でEXCEL等を用いながら進めます。講義，演習，プレゼンテーション等を含めすべて英語で行います。資料作成，演習等を英語で行うことにより，英語での説明能力を高めることを目指します。

理論や分析手法と併せて，経済統計の枠組みや日本・世界の経済事情についても学びます。統計学の基礎から指導しますが，前期「Economic Statistics I」の履修は必須要件です。演習や質疑応答には能動的に取り組んでください。
