授業概要(教育目的) 英語のスピーキングとリスニングに関する既習事項を確認・活用して，自身が伝達したいことを音声で表現できるようになること，そして相手が伝達したいことを聴き取って理解できるようになることを目的とします。
This class gives students the opportunity to develop basic skills in speaking and listening. Attention mainly focuses on pronunciation, intonation and basic communication strategies.

第24回Movie Part One Movie to be shown for the final (oral) exam
We will watch half of the movie and then the students will write a summary of what they've seen. (The instructor will correct the grammar.)
第25回Movie Part Two Movie to be shown for the final (oral) exam
Again, the students will watch the second half of the movie and write a summary. (The instructor will correct the grammar.)
第26回ReviewGroup Discussion with teacher's remarks
The teacher will write helpful vocabulary on the blackboard related to the film (to be used in the exam).
第27回Final ExamSpeaking test on the movie shown
Each student will be given a 90-second oral test concerning the film. It is a role play exam.
第28回Final Grade ExplanationGrades will be given on the basis of attendance, two or more short quizzes and the oral presentation.
第29回Summary 1The points of 1-14 lessons will be summarized.
Students will be able to return to the more interesting subject matters for further discussion.
第30回Summary 2The points of 15-28 lessons will be summarized.
The same principle will be followed as in the summary 1 description.
授業形式 演習形式を中心として授業を進め，ペアまたはグループによる練習なども行います。内容理解を確認するための小テストや課題提出等を随時課します。
This class lays stress on practical training, including work in pairs or groups. Comprehension quizzes and assignments will be given as needed.

事前学習の内容など，学生へのメッセージ Attendance is important.Students may have 5 (unexcused absences)however the fifth absence will result in a "C" grade 60%. Unexcused absences include missed classes because of sports or club activities.
Study one lesson in each book twice a week before you come to class.
