学習目標(到達目標) This is Part II of Economic Statistics. Here, students will study analytical methods using national accounts, and acquire skills to interpret socio-economic conditions.
本科目は前期・後期と連続しており，後期では，標本理論，回帰分析，国民経済計算等の手法や概念を学び，英語による分析資料の作成能力を習得します。
授業概要(教育目的) This course teaches basic probability and sampling theories, regression analysis, and national accounts. Students will apply them in the exercises in the class.
この講義では，確率論及び回帰分析の基礎並びに国民経済計算統計について学びます。現実のデータの分析演習を通じて世界の経済動向を英語で学びます。

Basic concepts and methods of probability and sampling theories will be explained.
第3回Regression Analysis (1)
Basic methods of regression analysis will be explained.

Exercises to apply regression analysis to real economic statistics will be given, and interpretation of the results will be discussed.
第5回National Accounts (1)The scope and framework of national accounts statistics will be explained,

Sector accounts, such as production, household, and government, will be explained.
第7回National Accounts (3)Exercises using national accounts statistics will be given.
第8回Trade and Balance of Payments
Concepts of international balance of payments statistics will be explained, and the world economic situation will be discussed.
第9回Purchasing Power Parities (1)
Basic concepts of purchasing power parities and real GDP will be explained.
第10回Purchasing Power Parities (2)
Exercises of analyzing PPP and GDP data will be given.
第11回Poverty and Inequality
Concepts of poverty and inequality will be explained, and exercises will be given.
第12回EducationStatistics on education will be explained, and exercises will be given.
第13回Energy and EnvironmentConcepts of energy and environment statistics will be explained, and the world energy situation will be discussed.
第14回Questions and AnswersReview and Overall Discussion
第15回Summary and Conclusions
The points of 1-14th lessons will be summarized.
授業形式 Lectures will be given in the PC room. Students will work on exercises, and produce reports, using mainly EXCEL.
授業は，パソコン教室でEXCEL等を用いて進めます。講義，演習，資料作成，プレゼンテーション等を含め，原則としてすべて英語で行います。これにより，英語での理解・説明能力を高めることを目指します。
