学習目標(到達目標) This is Part II of Economic Statistics. Students will study analytical methods using national accounts and other economic statistics, and acquire skills to interpret socio-economic conditions of Japan and the world.
本科目は前期の続編です。今期は，標本理論，回帰分析，国民経済計算等の手法や概念を学び，英語による資料作成能力を習得します。
授業概要(教育目的) This course teaches introductory inferential statistics, including sampling theories, statistical testing and regression, using national accounts and other statistics. Students will study how to apply them to real data.
この講義では，標本理論、統計的検定、回帰分析等を含む推測統計の基礎及び国民経済計算など経済統計を英語で学びます。現実のデータを用いて演習を行います。

第1回Sampling and Estimation (1)Introduction to this course will be given. As the foundation of inferential statistics, basic theories of probability and sampling will be explained. No advance study is needed.
第2回Sampling and Estimation (2)
Concepts of estimation and sampling errors, including confidence level and confidence interval, will be explained. Exercises will be given. Read the handouts distributed in advance.
第3回Statistical Testing (1)Concepts and methods of statistical testing will be explained. Read the handouts distributed in advance.
第4回Statistical Testing (2)Different types of probability functions will be explained. Students will learn how to apply them in real examples. Read the handouts distributed in advance.
第5回Regression Models (1)Concepts and methods of regression models will be explained. Read the handouts distributed in advance.
第6回Regression Models (2)
Exercises on regression models will be given. Read the handouts distributed in advance.
第7回Time Series AnalysisTime series analysis including seasonal adjustment will be explained. Read the handouts distributed in advance.
第8回National Accounts (1)The framework of national accounts will be explained. Students will study how to analyze labor statistics. Read the handouts distributed in advance.
第9回National Accounts (2)

Basic concepts of purchasing power parities and real GDP will be explained. Read the handouts distributed in advance.
第10回National Accounts (3)Exercises will be given. Review the two previous lessons in advance.
第11回International Trade and Balance of Payments
The framework of International Trade and Balance of Payjments Statistics will be explained. In the exercise, students will analyze such statistics.
第12回Poverty and Inequality (1)Concepts of poverty and inequality statistics will be explained. Read the handouts distributed in advance.
第13回Poverty and Inequality (2)Exercise will be given. Review the previous lesson in advance.
第14回Questions and AnswersReview and Overall Discussion
第15回Summary and Conclusions
The points of 1-14th lessons will be summarized.
授業形式 Lectures will be given in the PC room. Students will work on exercises, and present their reports, using mainly EXCEL.
授業は，パソコン教室でEXCEL等を用いて進めます。講義，演習，資料作成，プレゼンテーション等を含め，原則としてすべて英語で行います。これにより，英語での理解・説明能力を高めることを目指します。
