学習目標(到達目標) 異文化理解を基本テーマとして，言語，社会，文化について書かれた英文を読み，読解力を向上させ，異文化・日本文化についての理解を深めることを目標とします。
The goal of this class is for students to develop reading skills in English, and to extend their knowledge of intercultural communication and multicultural society.
授業概要(教育目的) 異文化との接触，多文化社会について学習を進めます。読解力を向上させるとともに，授業中に取り上げた話題に関して，自分自身の考えを発展させることを目的とします。
This class focuses on topics related to contacts between different cultures and to multicultural societies. Students are expected to improve reading skills and develop ideas about the topics dealt with in class.

評価の特記事項 欠席が７回に達した場合、単位を認定しません。遅刻/早退2回で1回の欠席とみなします。30分以上の遅刻/早退は欠席とみなします。やむをえない事情で欠席する場合は、正式な書類の提出が求められます。

参考文献 辞書は必ず授業に持ってきてください。

事前学習の内容など，学生へのメッセージ 授業で扱う教科書の範囲は必ず予習してきてください。予習の内容には、単語の意味、文法の練習問題、Readingの内容理解などを含みます。映画「タイタニック」の視聴は授業内に行うことになりますが、この内容はリスニング・テストになりますので、復習は欠かさずすること。
