In this course, students will study the current issues of China and the Asian region including Japan, through radio news and newspaper articles in English. The course aims at improving English skill and learning basic knowledge, which are required for working in the global business circle.

授業概要(教育目的) |
The training in this course will improve students' ability to understand the main point of each issue through listening and reading in English. They will be the basics for further discussion and developing ideas on the issues.

| 授業形式 |
The course will be conducted in English and designed to encourage students to use English as a learning tool. All the materials (newspaper articles) will be provided by the instructor. Students will also listen to English radio news in the clsss. |

| 事前学習の内容など，学生へのメッセージ |
授業は原則として英語で行う。授業の内容は，受講者の英語のレベルを考慮して調整する。最新の話題を取り上げた英字新聞記事を教材として活用する。受講者には，図書館やインターネットを利用して，生きた英語の情報に継続的にアクセスすることを強く求める。
新聞やテレビのニュースで中国に関する情報に対して常に注意を払うこと。毎回の授業で，その週に中国で起きた出来事についてコメントや質問を行う。
なお，授業中の私語は厳禁する。受講態度の悪い学生には退出を命じる。 |
