授業概要(教育目的) 英語のスピーキングとリスニングに関する既習事項を確認・活用して，自身が伝達したいことを口頭で表現できるようになること，そして相手が伝達したいことを聴き取って理解できるようになることを目的とします。
This class gives students the opportunity to develop basic skills in speaking and listening. Attention mainly focuses on pronunciation, intonation and basic communication strategies.

第1回ガイダンス成績評価の方法、出席のとりかた、持ち物、予習の方法について説明します。
＜事前学習＞1時間。シラバスを事前によく読んでおくこと。＜事後学習＞ガイダンスでの説明をメモを取っておき、説明通り、復習をしておくこと。次週の事前学習に方法を確認しておくこと。
第2回Unit１ Job InterviewFocus: Greetings and introductions/Getting to Know Each Other.　Introduce yourself to your classmates and use as many different greetings and introductions as you can.＜事前学習＞所要時間1時間。テキストのフォーカスを意識して単語を調べておくこと。＜事後学習＞授業で行った会話をテキストを見ないで言えるように練習すること。
第3回Unit１ Job InterviewFocus: Greetings and Introductions/Getting to Know Each Other。Work in pairs.Talk about yourself　and ask your partner at least two questions. Chose appropriate topics and practice the conversation　with your partner.

第8回TOEIC　TEST 模擬試験1新TOEICテストを行います。
これまでのTOEICと異なる点について解説します。過去問題集には載っていない予測問題を利用して模擬試験を行います。＜事前学習＞TOEICの過去の問題に目を通しておくこと。＜事後学習＞意味の分からなった単語を調べておくこと。
第9回TOEIC　TEST 模擬試験2新TOEICテストを行います。

Topics:　Initial talk onthe phone/ leaving a message/ wrong number．Try makeing a short phone call to your partner.　Role-play the dialog with your partner.＜事前学習＞所要時間1時間。テキストのフォーカスを意識して単語を調べておくこと。＜事後学習＞所要時間1時間。授業で行った会話をテキストを見ないで言えるように練習すること。
第11回Unit4　Andy's MakeoverFocus: Telephone Conversation
Interview your partner about his/ her attitudes toward phones. Take turns.

第13回Unit5　Andy Meets ChristianFocus: Making Small Talk/ Giving compliments

第14回期末試験と解説と総括test（60分）を行い、解説（および全授業３０分）して総括をします。
＜事前学習＞1時間。これまでの授業で学習したことをよく復習しておくこと。＜事後学習＞1時間。わからなかったことや、テストで間違えた点をノートにまとめておくこと。
第15回これまでの授業のまとめと後半にけての計画及び目標前半のまとめを行ない、後半の目標と、今後の計画について解説します。
＜事前学習＞1時間これまでの総復習をするので、授業内容全体をまとめたノートをよく読んでおくこと。＜事後学習＞1時間。前半の総まとめをすること。後期に向けての目標を立てるため、不明な点に重点を置いて復習すること。

Unit 6　Mirranda's Request		前期授業を踏まえて、前期での目標に到達しているのかを確認して、後期の目標を立て、計画を立てて確認する。Focus: Intentions

第29回Unit　12 Andy's Final ChoiceFocus: Asking and Answering Questions

Role-play.You have just arrived in Japan from Australia. You are a tourist and your partner is a voluntary clerk at the information desk. Ask your partner some questions.
Discuss Japanese culture with your partner. Introduce it to classmates.＜事前学習＞所要時間1時間。テキストのフォーカスを意識して単語を調べておくこと。＜事後学習＞所要時間1時間。授業で行った会話をテキストを見ないで言えるように練習すること。
第30回テストの解説と授業のまとめtest（60分）を行い、解説（および全授業３０分）して総括をします。

授業形式 演習形式を中心として授業を進め，ペアまたはグループによる練習なども行います。内容理解を確認するための小テストや課題提出等を随時課します。
This class places stress on practical training, including work in pairs or groups. Comprehension quizzes and assignments will be given as needed.

『五分間　新TOEICテスト　リスニング　550』南雲堂　700円.
参考文献 授業は毎回必ず英和・和英辞書を持ってきてください。スマートフォンの使用は禁止していますので、電子辞書か紙媒体の辞書を持参してください。どのような辞書が適しているかガイダンスで指示します。
オフィスアワー(授業相談) 水、金曜日3限と4限の授業前に本館二階講師室にて対応します。昼休み12時10分から13時の間で、質問する場合は事前にアポイントを取ってください。
事前学習の内容など，学生へのメッセージ 予習する範囲は授業内で指定します。割り当てられた担当の個所だけではなく,授業で扱う範囲は予習してきてください。欠席を1/3以上すると、単位を認めることはできません。携帯やスマートフォンを辞書代わりに使用することは認めません。ガイダンスに必ず出席してテキストは用意してのぞんでください。以上の件以外にも,成績についてなど重要な詳細を説明しますので、ガイダンスは必ず出席してください。
