学習目標(到達目標) 時事英語の独特な語彙・表現形式を学び，読解力を向上させ，自分の考えを英語で述べることができる。
Students will be able to learn vocabulary and expressions through various kinds of popular media in English, develop reading skills, and express their ideas on a given topic.
授業概要(教育目的) 新聞・雑誌・インターネットなど文字言語を媒体として報道されるニュースを主として扱います。時事英語に独特の語彙・表現を学び，読解力を高め，時事問題への理解を深めることを目的とします。
This class focuses mainly on written texts in print and on the Internet. Students will develop reading skills including vocabulary and expressions typical of current English, and awareness about current issues.

事前学習の内容など，学生へのメッセージ 初回授業時に学習方法の詳細を説明しますので，必ず出席して下さい。教科書は，The New York Times，The Guardian，The Financial Timesなどの海外メディアの記事から，世界的に活躍する企業の挑戦や動向が書かれたものを集めたものです。中には，高い英語力を必要とするものも含まれますが，洗練された英語で，興味深い内容となっています。最初はゆっくりとしたペースで進めますので，英語が得意な人もそうではない人も，予習にたっぷり時間をかけてください。毎回，辞書（電子辞書可）を必ず持参してください。授業中のスマホ・タブレット端末などの使用は一切不可となります。
