授業形式 This course focuses on real stories from Japanese and international newspapers. In addition to developing advanced reading and discussion skills we will emphasise analysis and explanation of the issues by giving presentations that draw on the socioeconomic and geographical background.

評価の特記事項 ほぼ毎週教科書関係の小テストがあって、たまには（2回ぐらい）レポートも書かせます。その他の評価は主にクラス参加に基づいて行われます。

参考文献 英語を含む世界地図を持参し、英字の新聞を毎週、日本語の新聞を毎日読んでください。
オフィスアワー(授業相談) 原則としては水曜日のお昼ですが、出来ればその前日までに口頭やメールで連絡してください
事前学習の内容など，学生へのメッセージ News articles and related topics will be studied, generally in the order in the textbook, and there will also be tests covering different parts of the world. The course will not be easy for students failing to prepare before class.
