学習目標(到達目標) This course aims to enable the students to:
1. Obtain understanding of the Japanese employment system in transition.
2. Become familiar with basic Japanese statistics on labor.
3. Be able to compare Japanese statistics with those of other industrialized nations.

授業概要(教育目的) The aim of this course is to examine the distinctive features of work and workplace in contemporary Japan and to understand their implications for Japanese family life.

授業形式 Attention will be given to ensure a good mix of lecture by the instructor and class discussion. Students will be given ample opportunities to express their ideas in English. Students will also be given an opportunity to conduct small research in a group and present materials in the class.
