We seek a native speaker of English with a professional interest in teaching English skills to students whose major is economics, industrial management, and/or finance and public economics.

Teaching subjects:

Duties of the position include teaching general English classes (i.e., Communication, Reading, Writing), TOEFL/TOEIC, and English classes for International Course students.

Native English speakers with sufficient Japanese language ability to handle administrative matters

Those who specialize in English Linguistics, American or British Literature, or English Language Education

Duties of the position also include teaching 自主創造の基礎 (First Year Education Course), Seminar of General Education, and remedial classes and other related courses. The typical teaching responsibilities include teaching 6.5 classes per year, with each 15-week, once-a-week class being equivalent to 0.5 class. (Of these, three classes are Seminar of General Education.) An Assistant Professor’s teaching responsibilities typically include teaching 5 classes per year. (Of these, three classes are Seminar of General Education.)

■ Compensation

Salary is defined in accordance with pay regulations of the College of Economics, Nihon University.

Please submit data that allows for verification of the following information: “Media and Media Name,” “Name of Academic Society/Organization/Publisher,” and “Date of Presentation/Publication.” This data should include items such as the “Cover (the website’s top page),” “Table of Contents,” and “Colophon (publication information page),” as applicable.

One doctoral dissertation can be counted as up to three research achievements (i.e., three published academic articles), depending on its content.

For co-authored articles, please ensure that the total number of eligible achievements meets the specified requirement.

In the case of a person engaged in business, additional documents are required to confirm his/her business career and achievements. (Format is optional. If you have any records of awards or commendations, please attach a copy.)

Statement concerning your “Educational Philosophy and Aspirations for the Role”

Use A4-size paper, with approximately 1,200 characters. This statement should be written horizontally in Japanese (MS Mincho [明朝]).

This statement should include a title, the subject of your application, and your name at the beginning.

This statement should be limited to one page.

This statement should also include your philosophy on administrative responsibilities.
